Red Veins
Red veins, which often manifest as red spider veins or thread veins, are a common cosmetic concern on both the face and legs. These veins lie close to the skin’s surface and typically form when blood vessels are damaged, or vein valves weaken, causing blood to pool and create visible, web-like patterns. Facial red veins often result from burst blood vessels, which may be triggered by sun exposure or conditions like rosacea. Conversely, red veins on the legs generally develop from pressure build up when the vein valve fails to direct blood flow properly. Although painless, many people seek red vein treatment to reduce their appearance and restore a more even skin tone.
