Sun Spots
Sun spots are of the most recognised types of hyperpigmentation and are almost inseparable from the natural ageing process. As their name suggests, they form on the skin as a direct result of exposure to sunlight and are usually most prominent across body parts such as the face, back, hands and shoulders.
Appearance-wise, these are often flat and come in many different shades of brown, always being darker than the prevailing skin tone of the sufferer. Sun spots are harmless and should always remain non-cancerous, normally tending to develop on people aged 40 and over.
